My original 101 Soap Making Class! This is a beginner-level course.

I'll teach you how to make soap from scratch at home as a hobby. Have fun while learning completely hands-on. The objective is to understand saponification values and be comfortable calculating and formulating your own soap recipes at home. You'll make real cold process soap from scratch during the class session and get to take it home. Students also take home a soap mold, a 2lb bottle of sodium hydroxide and handouts, which include step-by-step instruction, resources, and recipes to help you continue at home.

Topics: Safety, Equipment & Supplies, Saponification Values, Oil Properties, Recipe Formulation, Molds, Cutting and Curing, supplier links, Troubleshooting.

Bring to class: Calculator, pen/pencil and safety goggles, wear a long sleeve shirt, closed-toe shoes, and wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy.

Registration: Availability is first-come, first-served. Because of the caustic nature of sodium and potassium hydroxides, the class is for students aged 18+ years. Payment in full is required at the time of registration to reserve your spot.

Return Policy: The class is non-refundable. If you are unable to attend and you give 1-week notice you are welcome to reschedule to a later date class. No shows are non-refundable and not re-schedulable.
